A day in the life of a multi-tasking parent

Thursday 24 May 2018 is Nature’s Finest Multi-Tasking Day, and who could possibly know more about multi-tasking than us busy parents.

Nature’s Finest fruit pots are a great time saver for busy parents. The fruit is ripe and pre-prepared, stored in juice and has no added sugar or weird ingredients.

The smaller pots can be put as they are in your child’s lunchboxes or brought out at snack time, or you can use the bigger pots for any recipe that contains fruit. Because it’s all been peeled and/or chopped for you, it really does save time.

While my three-year-old son was at nursery one morning recently, I whipped up a batch of prune, banana and almond slices for this week’s after school snacks; made myself a smoothie for a mid-morning snack; prepped some mandarin parfaits for tomorrow’s breakfast AND made a quick salad for my lunch. All of that took under an hour using the Nature’s Finest fruit pots. I also managed to unload and reload the dishwasher, do a load of washing and listen to a radio programme at the same time.

Never say a mum’s life isn’t glamorous!

Peach and oat smoothie

  • 1 x 700g pot of Nature’s Finest Peach in juice
  • Handful of oats
  • Extra fruit juice or water as desired

Place the peaches and a handful of oats in a high-speed blender with a little extra fruit juice or water. Blend until smooth. Add extra liquid until you have your preferred consistency.

Grapefruit, rocket and avocado salad with pistachio nuts (serves 2)

  • 1 x 390g pot of Nature’s Finest Grapefruit in juice
  • 60g rocket
  • 1 or 2 avocados, chopped
  • Handful of pistachios, toasted
  • Lime
  • Olive oil

Mix the rocket, avocado and grapefruit together in a salad bowl. Sprinkle over the toasted pistachios and drizzle with lime juice and olive oil.
